Brew your black tea according to package instructions and allow to chill.
Once chilled, at the black tea, syrup, lemon juice, optional turmeric, and aquafaba to a cocktail shaker and dry shake without ice for 10 shakes or until nice and frothy.
Add ice and shake for another 10 shakes or until chilled.
Double strain* the mixture over a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe glass, shaking out the foam.
Garnish with a star anise (or pumpkin pie spice).
NOTES
*Double straining just makes the mixture super smooth and pristine. Bartenders use this technique at bars. However, it is optional.
